Explainer: Launching a Winning Podcast

Audio Clip 3:35

We come up with a show concept that is unique and will make your podcast stand out against the rest.

By now, you’re probably wondering how launching a podcast works. Let’s break it down into a few simple steps.

First, we collaborate with you to come up with an idea — a theme. Your goal is to demonstrate your expertise, so we come up with a show concept that is unique and will make your podcast stand out against the rest.

Next, we work with you to develop the show’s assets. This includes the logo, episode artwork, professionally voiced intro and outro, and the production schedule – do you want episodes to release weekly or biweekly, indefinitely? Or do you have a limited series in mind, with a fixed number of shows? This is where we nail down those particulars.

Although we’ll meet virtually and keep in touch by phone throughout this process, we’ll schedule some specific time to set up your recording equipment and space. It’s important to get you set up right, so that your podcast sounds as professional as you are.

Next comes your first episode’s recording in our virtual studio. We show you how everything works, and make sure everything goes smoothly. We’ll also record your trailer with you, a “coming soon” announcement that gets your podcast ready and out on all the podcasting platforms. We’ll apply professional audio editing to your episode and your trailer, including normalizing the volume, cutting out “ums” and “ahs,” and making everything sound true radio quality.

By now, we’ll have finished versions of the logos, artwork, and intro and outro, which you can have us tweak to your liking. We’ll then get these uploaded to the biggest podcast platforms, such as Apple, Spotify, Stitcher, Amazon, YouTube, and more, along with your trailer, so that your podcast starts to appear on search engines ahead of the full launch. We’ll make a post on your website introducing the show and including an embedded player for the trailer.

As you continue to record episodes, launch will occur from four, up to about eight, weeks after the start of this process. We’ll prepare posts with full transcripts for SEO optimization on your website, and we’ll work with your marketing team to maximize your exposure on social media. With ongoing production will come more and more benefits—to your professional network, to your client base, and to your stature in your profession. It will be clear to all that you are a trusted expert, supported by a network of intelligent, accomplished guests.

Our clients have found they receive more invites to speak at conferences, including paid appearances, and that they can merely express interest in events and be invited to speak. They report an ever-expanding network of fellow professionals, discovering more about their profession than they ever knew, sometimes even after 30 or more years of practice. And the increase in their visibility and the size of their network means more and better clients.
